Good morning, everyone! Wow, I can’t believe it—we have officially reached 1,000 followers on Facebook!

To me, this is truly amazing. It shows that we are making a real impact for our wildlife by spreading the word. When I first started this page, I never thought it would get to this point. Today, I am incredibly proud of myself and my team. It’s been a journey of “slow steps,” but we are getting the word out!

A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to take a moment to thank the people who have been in my corner since the very beginning:

To Yvonne in the bush: Thank you for always helping me. Look, Ivonne—I reached my first 1K!

To all my donors on this page: Your contributions are what keep us going every single day.

To Bold & Nuts Mbazwana: Thank you for your monthly donations since the very start of this sanctuary.

To Sodwana Bay Ski-Boat Club: A huge thank you to the club and the fishing competitions for allowing me the time to do promotions. A special thanks for the donations that allowed us to build our kitchen and buy stock—it has made a world of difference!

To Ngunis, Build It, and Spar: Thank you for always being willing to let me hold promotions in front of your shops.

The Journey So Far

Since my journey began, there have been so many ups and downs. It has been a massive learning experience filled with successful releases, but also the heartbreak of loss. With each animal, I learn something new. No two are the same; they each have their own personality and their own story.

If I started from the very beginning—back when it all began with a tiny bat pup falling onto my shoulder—I’d keep you busy reading for a whole year!

While we work with all types of wildlife, I have to be honest: my heart truly belongs to birds of prey. They are some of the most interesting creatures, and there is so much to learn from them. However, every single animal that passes through this sanctuary holds a special place in my heart.

Looking Forward

We have come so far because of you. It hasn’t always been an easy road. Some days are great, and others are a huge struggle, but we are getting there slowly. Just thinking about how I started with a greenhouse as a flight cage and a single bird cage compared to where we are today is truly amazing.

I have so many plans for the future, and I can’t achieve them without your support. Thank you for following us and for helping us be the voice for the voiceless.

Onward to the next milestone! 🦅🦉🦇
